Seacoast Marine Electronics -

About Our Roots
We didn't just drift into marine electronics like so many others who thought
it might be a fun way to make a living. Pete Waterson qualified as a Merchant
Marine Radio Officer in the UK in 1968 (Hmmm... dare he admit that he is that
old?). Certification required technical troubleshooting, knowledge of
communications and radar equipment on board deep sea vessels, as well as correct
operating
procedures and detailed knowledge of search and rescue communications. In late
1968 he went to sea as Radio Officer aboard the Cunard cruise ships Carmania and
Franconia (pictured right) until 1971, when he went ashore to work at Bermuda
Harbor Radio - later to become RCC Bermuda. He left RCC Bermuda in 1983 to start
Marine Communications in Bermuda.
Relocating to the U.S. in 2001, Seacoast Marine
Electronics was incorporated in New Hampshire in 2001. We relocated the business
to Oriental (the sailing capital of North Carolina) in December 2005.
